Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Gareth Bale will leave in the summer when his contract expires. The Welsh international, 32, has been at the Bernabeu since 2013. He has won four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles. However, he has fallen out of favour in recent seasons, making only 20 La Liga appearances in the last three seasons combined. He spent 2020-21 on loan at Tottenham Hotspur. On Saturday he started his first club game since August, leading the line in a 0-0 draw at Villarreal. Speaking ahead of Madrid’s trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16, Ancelotti said: “I have a good relationship with him and the rest of the players. “Personal relationships are strong when everyone shows respect and he has always done that and has never let me down in that regard.“In the past, he hasn't had great motivation, but he wants to end things here in a good way.“Bale has helped this club to win the Champions League, Copa del Rey and signing off on a high here would be good for his career.”(Photo: Quality Sport Images/Getty Images)
