Pedro Neto could return for Wolves against Leicester after 10 months out

Pedro Neto could return to Premier League action this weekend after 10 months out injured. The 21-year-old is back in full training having recovered from a broken kneecap and head coach Bruno Lage says he may be involved against Leicester City.Neto's return, plus the availability of defenders Willy Boly, Yerson Mosquera and midfielder Joao Moutinho — who missed the win at Tottenham last weekend with a calf problem — means Lage has a fully-fit squad for the first time since he took charge last summer.Forward Neto, who was named Wolves' player of the season in 2020-21, fractured his kneecap last April during a 1-0 win over Fulham. It was initially hoped he would return in October, but due to complications his absence has ended up being 10 months instead of six.He spent time back home in Portugal before Christmas and has gradually built up his fitness at Compton Park this year, recently returning to full training with the first-team and joining in with tactical meetings.Lage said of his possible involvement against Leicester: "Let's see. Everyone is training with the team, now we need to, day by day, see how he feels, if he's comfortable, how many minutes he can play, but feels very comfortable in training."It's a question of timing and then we can select him for the games."Ivory Coast international Boly hasn't kicked a ball in the Premier League this season, partly due to selection but also because of a host of injury issues, the most recent being a calf problem which kept him out of the African Cup of Nations.Young Colombian defender Mosquera pulled his hamstring last September and hasn't played since.Wolves were already in better shape after the returns of Jonny Castro Otto — 10 months out with a second ACL injury — and Hwang Hee-chan, both of whom were on the bench against Tottenham. Hwang came on in the closing minutes for his first action in two months following a hamstring strain.Lage added: "Everyone is involved in training, so every player is fit and ready to join the team. It's good news."It's a huge boost to have Moutinho back. We have Joao, we have Pedro, Hwang… everyone is involved in training."We've been waiting for this since the first day. And it comes in the middle of February."(Photo: Jack Thomas – WWFC/Wolves via Getty Images)
