Norwich forward Adam Idah has suffered a season-ending meniscus injury. The Irish striker, 21, has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, and has started six of Norwich’s last ten Premier League games. He scored the opener in January’s 2-1 win over Everton. However, he missed Saturday’s trip to Manchester City with ankle and knee issues, stemming from a challenge at Crystal Palace on February 9. After consulting a specialist for scans, he underwent knee surgery on Thursday. Head coach Dean Smith said: “He did it in the Palace game. There was a tackle, he planted his foot, and hurt his knee and ankle. But played on. Then the following couple of days he felt stiff. We had the exploratory look and we have had to repair the meniscus.“Adam went in yesterday for an arthroscopy and ended up having a meniscus repair, which has probably put him out for the season now. That's a big blow for us because he had broken into the team and was doing really well. It's disappointing for him and disappointing for the team.“He's a young player with an awful lot of potential who had just scored his first Premier League goal and that had given him a lot of confidence. “But there are plenty of players there that we hope can share the load with Teemu Pukki.”However, in a boost for Norwich, Smith did reveal that midfielder Mathias Normann is returning to fitness, and played 60 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday. Norwich are 18th in the Premier League table, four points off safety. They face a difficult trip to Liverpool on Saturday, where they have not won since 1994. (Photo: Stephen Pond/Getty Images)
