The Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-2, on a night in which Joe Girardi asked umpires to check Max Scherzer for foreign substances twice. Scherzer was not pleased, as he stared down Girardi on his way back to the dugout. Bryce Harper homered in the loss.
