Cincinnati FC went up 2-0 just 12 minutes into their season-opening match against Nashville SC thanks to an 8′ goal from Luciano Acosta and a 12′ penalty shot from Brenner. However, Nashville stormed back with a 20′ goal from Jhonder Cádiz and 64′ goal from Randall Leal as they forced a dramatic 2-2 draw.
