The start of spring training games has been postponed by at least a week, Major League Baseball announced Thursday. "We regret that, without a collective bargaining agreement in place, we must postpone the start of Spring Training games until no earlier than Saturday, March 5th," read MLB's statement. This move has long been expected as the pace of negotiations on a new collective agreement has been glacial since the league imposed a lockout in early December.Spring training games were originally scheduled to begin on Saturday, Feb. 26.MLB said that each team has a policy that allows for full refunds for those who bought tickets to any canceled games. The league also said it will meet in person with the players on Monday, "and remain every day next week to negotiate and work hard towards starting the season on time."Teams believe they need at least four weeks of spring training to prepare for the regular season, which makes next week's round of negotiations critical if the league has any hopes of starting the season on time.(Photo: Carmen Mandato / Getty Images)
