Leicester defender Ricardo Pereira has signed a new contract until 2026. The 28-year-old right-back has been at the King Power Stadium since 2018, and has made over 100 appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Pereira was awarded Leicester’s Player of the Season award after the 2018-19 season, but an ACL injury in March 2020 has limited him to only 24 league appearances over the last two seasons. After a hamstring injury earlier this season, he made a return to the starting XI in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against West Ham. Pereira said: “I would say this is the natural thing to happen. I’m happy here. I think the club is happy. It’s a win-win situation. To be in the Premier League, at a club like Leicester, it’s something when I was young which was far, far away. “Now, I have to enjoy the moment and enjoy the present and keep doing by best for the club and for me.” (Photo: Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/Getty Images)
