Japan and Costa Rica Squared off in the group stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The first half was off to a slow start, as both teams were locked in at 0-0. Costa Rica took advantage of a late opportunity when Keysher Fuller scored in the 81st minute. Japan had a few chances late but weren’t able to score. Costa Rica notched its first win in the World Cup since 2014 and just sixth all-time in the tournament.
