Illinois survives Nebraska’s late push, hangs on for 30-22 win

The Illinois Fighting Illini jumped out to a 30-9 lead over the Nebraska Cornhuskers and hung on for a 30-22 victory. Adrian Martinez ran for a 75-yard touchdown and threw for one as well, but the Illinois defense thwarted a last-minute drive from Nebraska to seal the win. It was Bret Bielema’s first win as Illinois head coach.
