Washington Commanders wide receiver Charley Taylor died on Feb. 19. Taylor, 80, played 14 seasons with the Commanders."Taylor is probably the greatest natural player I've ever seen," said former Commanders coach Bill McPeak. "He combines power, speed and fine open field moves."The Commanders selected Taylor No. 3 in the 1964 NFL Draft. He led the Commanders to the playoffs five times and one Super Bowl appearance in 1973.Following his retirement in 1977, Taylor remained with the Commanders organization as a coach. From 1981-1993, Taylor served as the wide receivers coach. During that time, Washington won three Super Bowls.Taylor finished his career with 649 receptions, 9,110 receiving yards and 79 receiving touchdowns. He was an eight-time Pro Bowler, named First-team All-Pro in 1967 and was a two-time NFL receptions leader.
