The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to hire Seahawks associate head coach Sean Desai as their next defensive coordinator, Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday. Here’s what you need to know:
Desai was associate head coach of the Seahawks for one season. He was with the Chicago Bears from 2013-2021, serving as defensive coordinator, safeties coach and defensive quality control coach.
He replaces Jonathan Gannon, who left this offseason to become head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
Philadelphia had the NFL’s top-ranked pass and No. 2 total defense last season, reaching the Super Bowl.
