Monterrey missed an amazing chance to go up 2-0 after a beautiful save from Andrés Gudiño in the 26th minute of the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League semifinal play. Cruz Azul had a great chance to draw level shortly after, but Juan Escobar’s strike went just wide in the 27th minute.
