Canada-U.S. women’s hockey gold medal game averaged more viewers than any NHL contest this season

The gold medal women's hockey game at the Olympics between Canada and the United States on NBC averaged 3.54 million viewers, more than any NHL game televised in the U.S. this season. It was the second most-watched hockey game in the U.S. since 2019, behind only the title-clinching Game 5 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Final between Tampa Bay and Montreal.Canada won the game 3-2 on Thursday in Beijing, reclaiming the gold medal after the American women won it four years ago in Pyeongchang.
