Brighton defender Lewis Dunk banned for Burnley game after red card appeal was rejected

Brighton & Hove Albion’s appeal to have Lewis Dunk’s red card against Manchester United overturned has been rejected by the FA. Dunk, 30, was dismissed in the 54th minute of the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford. His heavy touch left Anthony Elanga through on goal. Dunk tried to fix his error but brought Elanga down in the process.Referee Peter Bankes initially showed the Brighton skipper a yellow card.He was advised to review the incident on the pitch side monitor by VAR Jarred Gillett and changed his decision to a red card.
