Birmingham City have appointed Ian Dutton as their new managing director.The smart move ends a period of uncertainty where Birmingham were operating without a senior figurehead in the key position.Xuandong Ren held the role of authority before he resigned from the post in May 2021 and questions have since been asked about the structure of the Midlands club.Birmingham had considered appointing a chief executive but that search is now understood to be over as 37-year-old Dutton, who steps up from his role as chief commercial officer, will run the business side of the club while Craig Gardner covers the football element as technical director.(Photo: Naomi Baker/Getty Images)
