Avalanche’s Artturi Lehkonen taken to local hospital as precaution after collision with Jamie Oleksiak

Colorado Avalanche forward Artturi Lehkonen left in the second period of Thursday’s game against the Seattle Kraken after a collision with Jamie Oleksiak sent him headfirst into the boards. Lehkonen was taken to a local hospital as a precaution for further evaluation, the team announced, adding he is alert, responsive and has full movement.
Lehkonen remained on the ice for around a minute. Teammate Nathan MacKinnon remained next to him as a trainer came to the ice. Lehkonen eventually skated to the dressing room with assistance from the trainer. The Avalanche did not seem to interpret…
