Tottenham to go on first overseas tour since before pandemic with pre-season trip to South Korea

Tottenham Hotspur have announced a pre-season tour to South Korea ahead of the 2022-23 season.It is the club’s first tour abroad since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Son Heung-Min and Cho So-hyun, captains of the South Korea men’s and women’s national team respectively, both play for Spurs. Tottenham will play two exhibition matches in the Coupang Play Series. Dates and opponents have not yet been announced. Spurs are the most watched and best-supported overseas team in the country, while the club also has four Official Korean Supporters’ Clubs. Tottenham’s last pre-season tour abroad was in 2019, when they travelled to Singapore and Shanghai to take on Juventus and Manchester United. That summer, they also faced Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in Munich, and Inter Milan at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.Son said: “I am extremely excited to be returning home to South Korea this summer alongside my Spurs team-mates — for most of whom this will be their first visit. I can’t wait to see their reaction to the passionate Korean fans and the incredible atmosphere in what we are sure will be packed out stadiums for our matches.”Chairman Daniel Levy added: “We are delighted to be heading back out on tour after what has been such a challenging time for us all.
