Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said it is “not clear” how long forward Diogo Jota will be ruled out with an ankle injury.Jota, who is definitely out of the club’s Premier League match against Norwich City on Saturday, suffered the injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Inter Milan on Wednesday evening. He was replaced by Roberto Firmino at half-time. Jota subsequently had a scan to establish the extent of the ligament damage, with Klopp unsure whether the Portuguese international has suffered a long-term injury. Discussing Jota’s availability before Norwich’s trip to Anfield, Klopp said: “No, he will not be available (against Norwich). We need further assessment. “It's something with the ligaments around the ankle. Everything is possible. It could go quick or the other way. We have to wait but no chance for this weekend.”Liverpool face three games in eight days, with Premier League fixtures against Norwich and Leeds followed by the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on February 27. Firmino scored a goal after replacing Jota, having fallen out of Klopp’s first-choice XI, with the manager paying tribute to the striker on Friday. He said: “Bobby is Bobby. He is an incredible person. You could see when he came on it was the most difficult position on the pitch. It is really tricky to keep the ball there. When he scored everything came back. Bobby in a mood helps us massively.“Bobby could be in each XI every single day because of his quality. It was one of the most away goals we've scored. It calmed everything down and we got the momentum back."“We were very happy Bobby scored – it is always an extra thing when Bobby scores because of how unselfish he is.“We talk constantly about this – Diogo is now out and we don't know how long for. We know we have a really good squad but in the end we have to deliver and we have to fight. The key was the attitude, not who played.”(Photo: Getty Images)
